I absolutely love Tula Pink and look forward to watching her videos every Tuesday. However, lately I have been very disappointed about the way that the media is crucifying her over FABRIC!!! I know, fabric is super important and all but seriously people it is fabric. If you want more, buy more and support an amazing human! Anyways, my quilting goal one day is to meet Tula and even better take a class from her.

In the meantime I will show you one of my throwback finished quilts that I made from Tula's fabric. My youngest daughter Joslyn is quite the wild child. She went right into my favorite quilt shop Stash and picked out Tula's Spirit Animal jelly roll. There was no negotiating with this one. She wanted the color and ALL the colors at that.
So this was the pattern I choose, a herringbone pattern from Hello Melly Designs (https://www.hellomellydesigns.com/2019/04/03/easy-herringbone-quilt-tutorial/). It was simple to follow and using a jelly roll made it that much easier. At this time I didn't have a long arm so I just did some straight line sewing and as was kindly pointed out to me by the county fair judge in my town I forgot to quilt the boarder. I didn't say I was an expert :) The backing is light pink vintage chenille with silver weaved throughout that I found at a vintage warehouse near Leavenworth, WA. I love the weight that the chenille brings to the quilt but wish it were a bit more snuggly! Doesn't matter this one is all about the looks.

I added a sweet little label to the back of the quilt dedicating this to her with the year. Unfortunately, I followed a tutorial online for how to print on fabric and it turned out great but didn't last through the wash. Any tips would be greatly appreciated for future tag making!
