This has been an eventful week for the family. I navigated parenthood by myself while my husband hit the road for work. One day we had THREE baseball/softball games and a dance class to attend and everyone made it on time with success. I even managed to get snacks to one of my daughters games for the entire team! Of course I could have never done this without the help of my parents and my mother in law. Needless to say I was very happy to have Patrick back in town and able to help with everything this weekend!
This weekend my brother and his girlfriend came to see us! It has been about 2 years since we saw them last and it just made my heart so happy to see the family together and able to catch up after being gone for so long.

I made this quilt about 6 months ago with the hopes of finishing it before Valentine's day but my longarm shipment was delayed and that didn't happen. Oh well, as soon as February rolls around next year I will be ready. As soon as we got by longarm I had this loaded and ready to go! I was nervous about this being the first quilt that I would have ever used a longarm to quilt so I didn't buy super expensive fabric, just bought from Joann's and let my girls pick out coordinating pinks and reds and then added the super soft minky pink backing on to it. The pattern that I used was Simple Hearts Quilt + Free Pattern | Cluck Cluck Sew. It was a great quilt pattern and very easy to follow. I was able to complete the piecing all in one weekend. The quilt pattern that I used is Hearts B2B from Anne Bright Designs.

The real reason that I am sharing this quilt now is because I had been waiting to photograph this quilt but never did find the right time to get it done until now. Our fields are so gorgeous filled with barley. It looks fluffy and I thought it would be the perfect setting for this quilt to get photographed finally. Needless to say, my husband was not as excited to hold the quilt because, while the barley looks soft and fluffy, it is more scratchy and pointy. Anyways, he was a trooper and got it done and now we have these wonderful photos to share with you today!
